Answer
·  What do I have to do if I want to display my art at the menagerie?

Nothing! Just bring your art and supplies and you can set up a section in the art room.

·  Can I sell my art and take commissions?

You are allowed to sell and take commissions. Remember this is a relatively small event. If you are planning on bringing a large selection of items, you may want to register as a vendor to get dedicated space so you are not asked to move your things for scheduled programming.

·  Will there be drawing at the next event? Can someone help me learn to draw?

Drawing occurs at all events and some fur may help you with pointers on drawing out of the kindness of their heart if you ask them nicely. If you are hoping for a panel on drawing, you should check the programming or request one in the forums!

·  Can I reserve a spot in the Artists room?

Sorry, No! Spots are first come first serve at this time. Get there early!

·  What is the function of the bartender?

The bartender cannot drink. He or she distributes drinks to individuals and may elect to collect car keys at the beginning of the night. They station the bar for the entire event (while the bar is open). They observe individuals to tell when they've had too much and cut them off.

·  What age do I have to be to attend a Menagerie event?

Each Menagerie event is designated as an "All Ages" event, an "18+" event, or a "21+" event. You may only attend those events that your age qualifies you for.

·  How does the bartender cut you off?

He does so with the Cape of Infoxication.

·  What are the Bar Hours?

I have no idea, probably like 9 to 2 or something. Panda knows.

·  Why is the next event designated as only XX ages instead of my age group?

The age requirement for each Menagerie event date is voted upon by members of the KYFurs community. This voting typically occurs one to two months prior to the scheduled event, in the KYFurs Forums. If you want to make a difference for the next event, become more active in the community, get your friends involved and vote!

·  What sort of Identification is required to attend a Menagerie event?

A government issued identification card with photograph is required (Drivers license, State ID card, etc). A note from your mother will NOT suffice.

·  I am not 18 (or 21), but I will be before the next 18+ (or 21+) Menagerie event. Do I have to wait until I turn 18 (or 21) before I can register?

No, you may register right now as long as you turn 18 prior to the next event and have your ID ready at the door.

·  What Menagerie events are allowed to have alcohol?

Alcohol will only be allowed at 21+ parties, you must have a valid form of ID at the door to attend.

·  Can I bring my own alcohol to the party? Will alcohol be provided for me?

YES if you intend to drink, you certainly may bring your own alcohol to the event. There is usually a selection of liquor available for those who do not bring any of their own which is provided by organizers, however if you are picky you should bring what you like!

·  Do I have to pay for alcohol? Do I have to pay for mixers?

You do not have to pay for the alcohol that is provided by others. All sodas are currently free. If you want a particular mixer, you should bring it yourself unless you know for sure someone else will have it.

·  Can I drink and then leave the party?

We personally believe that people SHOULD stay if they are drinking, but we really cannot force anyone to make the decision. They are adults, and they need to plan accordingly in order to facilitate themselves not being stupid. We will personally try to convince them otherwise, but if they really want to leave, then I cant hold them. We all three agree about your concern, and believe that if you think the right thing to do is to contact the police or other organizations, then please feel free to assist with that, but we cant control any one persons' actions...let alone if they decide to leave.

·  I want to go to the Menagerie but I'm afraid I will get drunk and won't be able to get home. can you get me a taxi?

We can call them but you're paying for the ride!!

·  What is the Cape of Infoxication?

This is a garment that must be worn by any individual deemed by the bartender or an admin to have "indulged too much" in alcoholic beverages. Any individual ordered to wear the cape of infoxication must do so until the Bartender or an Admin releases this individual from wearing it.

·  What does it mean if a person has to wear the cape of infoxication?

Any person wearing the cape of infoxication is banned from drinking any additional alcohol while wearing the cape. Additionally, if you are told to wear the cape, you will be recorded on the bartenders watch list, and for future menagerie 21+ events the rate you are allowed to ingest alcohol will be reduced from that of general attendees.

·  What happens if someone takes off the cape of infoxication without permission from the bartender?

Anyone who removes the cape without permission is in violation of the KYFurs code of conduct. The instance will be noted and two violations will result in being banned from future 21+ Menagerie events.

·  Who watches to make sure that persons wearing the cape of infoxication do not drink further alcohol?

All attendees agree to note who wears the cape of infoxication and keep an eye on the wearer, to prevent the wearer from drinking any additional alcohol.

·  What sort of dance is there?

Depends on the event and who the DJ is. You should check out the programming for more information.

·  Is there a dedicated dance floor? Does it have lights and sound? O.O

Yes and it is beautiful.

·  How do I apply to become the DJ for the next Menagerie event?

Email panda or jouster or ayren or darktiger or trufahlan

·  Why is the Menagerie on XX date? Can it be moved to a Friday or Saturday instead?

The dates we obtain to reserve the facility that the Menagerie is held in depend solely on the openings of the building owner. Our group is a smaller group and brings in less revenue, so we often have to take whatever date is available.

·  How many people wear fursuits at the Menagerie? Can I wear my fursuit?

There are typically a few people who bring their fursuits and they get worn a few times during the night, however the majority of attendees do not own a fursuit.

·  Can I bring my fursuit? Can I bring partial suit items (ears, tail, paws, etc)

Fursuits and all accessories are welcome! You may bring yours and wear them as much as you like.

·  I live too far away from Louisville! How do I get there?

The best idea would be to carpool with someone who lives near you. Check out the KYFurs Forums and make some friends!

·  Why is the Menagerie held in Louisville? Can we have a Menagerie in another city besides Louisville that is closer to me?

Our goal was and is to cater to as many people as possible in the state for what we can afford to do on a consistent basis. Louisville is the most central location to many other large cities and small towns. It has a high density of furs that participate actively in the community. The menagerie facility is the only facility that we have found with as many amenities as it has for an affordable price.

·  Can I take pictures or video while I'm at the Menagerie?

Pictures and video are not prohibited. However many members of the furry community are reserved about having their picture or video taken, and others are reserved about having their picture or video made public (placed online). We ask that if you do take pictures or video, you ensure that you have the consent of those whose images you capture, and their consent to post these pictures if you plan to publically post them.

·  Is there sleeping space available?

Yes! There is a room designated for smoking cigarettes and other legal tobacco products in the upstairs kitchen area,

·  How do we decide who gets to sleep on the mattresses provided by the facility?

We cannot guarentee any "claims" on mattresses. At this point the system is still basically first come first serve. If you place your belongings on a mattress there is no guarentee that some sleepy fur won't remove your stuff and sleep there. We suggest you bring lots of bedding with you just in case you need something soft to sleep on, or if you plan on staying up later than most!

·  Is the neighborhood around the Menagerie safe?

The facility that houses the Menagerie has been hosting events every weekend for over a year now and has never yet had any issues with safety or criminal activity. A gated parking lot is available free of charge for those who desire its use, which gets locked at night.

·  Can I smoke at the Menagerie?

Yes! There is a room designated for smoking cigarettes and other legal tobacco products in the upstairs kitchen area.

·  Am I allowed to smoke outside?

Unfortunately, No. After the event begins we must limit the number of people who are outside the building during the evening. This is by request of the owner of the building to minimize the disturbance of residents who live in the nearby neighborhood. As part of the agreement to use this building, we must forbid loitering outside of any sort, and make all efforts to keep the noise level outside the facility to a minimum.
